Another great week here in Davie or should I say Davines!!!!! :)

triplets hello with the PiersMy dearest Family!!!!!!

It has been such a wild and wonderful week πŸ™‚ I just can’t get enough of missionary work it truly is the greatest.

So I am now in a trio!!!! It is the best! I am with Sister Johnson (from star valley she served in Nova YSA and lived with me for the first 6 months of my mission) and Sister Merrill (my wonderful trainee. she is the BEST!) Yes we are the dream team, thanks for asking. Yes we have just enough fun and basically everyday I die laughing. It is the greatest.

I love serving with Sister Johnson and Sister Merrill they are both so amazing and it is so much fun to see how our different personalities and strengths play off each other and work together! It has been crazy as you probably guess organizing and planning everything with the 2 different areas but I am excited to continue to innovate and be play makers here πŸ™‚

ok one funny story of the week. So there we were in front of President’s house and it is almost 9. All the sudden Sister Johnson grabs our chinese left over box that is full of fortune cookies, dumps them out all over the car and goes chasing after a giant frog the size of my hand in the mission homes drive way!! Sister Merrill and I just about lost it and wet our skirts on the spot. I wish you all could have seen it. She finally corners it and I flip the box over and we have it in captivity! YES! the box was basically jumping around with the frog in it. so then we pull our act together and give President our baptismal program for brother king and we head home laughing the whole way. When we got home we broke into the Assistants apartment (they live in the same apt complex as us) and left the giant frog in their tub!

Huge miracles are happening here in Davines! Davie is continuing to change and grow and it is so amazing to reflect back and look at how much has changed since I got here. The ward is becoming more missionary minded and I love it!!! YAY! This week we are training all the ward missionaries, priests and laurels so that they can prepare for their missions and fulfill their callings! We are very excited to get them all more involved with the new member lessons and helping them to open their mouths and share their amazing testimonies! It is going to be great!

This week we have really seen some big miracles – the Lord is truly moving teaching us all as we strive to be obedient and have faith in Him. This week we took Saidi (she is 15 and was baptized in December) out with us to do missionary work. As we were driving to our first appointment we taught her about sharing her testimony and how to do it. She was nervous but we knew she was ready! While teaching Greg who was struggling with even his belief of God she said “look this is how it is!” then she bore the most amazing testimony of how she came to know God and understand her relationship with him! It was amazing – the Spirit was sooo strong. Greg prayed and read the Book of Mormon and his faith is growing. Then we went to see Angelica who is 14 and was baptized yesterday. Saidi again bore the most amazing testimony about how she is the first one in her family to be baptized and how her family life is crazy and how the gospel has helped her to keep moving forward! It was perfect! She really helped solidify Angelica. Then we went to see Aliyah, who is also 14 and really taking a stand in her family and wants to be baptized and come so bad but her family is holding her back. While Saidi again bore simple and pure testimony the Spirit really worked on Aliyah who was then able to have the courage to tell her mom that she was coming to church with or without her! She came and she is preparing to be baptized this week! Heavenly Father knows how to orchestrate his work and he knows what each of us his precious children need. All we need to do is ask and he will tell us!!

This week I have been learning more about the light of Christ. So awesome. In Moroni 7:16 Moroni teaches that the light of Christ is “given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.” I have seen this so much here. As children of a loving Heavenly Father he has a perfect plan for each of us and as we yield to the Spirit and make good choices the light in us grows! Then when we are confirmed we get the gift of the Holy Ghost and that little light of Christ really takes flame as we keep our covenants. in vs 19 Moroni invites all toΒ “search diligently in the light of Christ that ye may know good from evil; and if ye will lay hold upon every good thing, and condemn it not, ye certainly will be a child of Christ.” I know that we are all brothers and sisters! We need to share this gospel with EVERYONE!!! They need it soooooo bad!

I love this work. I love the Lord and I will give him my best, my very BEST. I will always do all I can to have His trust.

It has been such a great week. I love you all and love hearing from you!

  1. We are going to miss the wonderful spirit of Sister Stegelmeier and her companions. We learned of the threesome on the day before we left for home. We look forward to continuing following her mission by reading this blog…thank you for posting her letters home.
