This has been the Wildest Week of My Mission. I Love It!!!!

My dearest family,

Wow what an incredible week it has been! Huge miracles are happening in Davie and I LOVE it! Sister Merrill is so incredible. She has such amazing faith and she has such incredible charity – I don’t know how anyone says no to us. 🙂 We faced some opposition big opposition this week but we both choose to press forward with faith and team up with the Lord and we saw some HUGE miracles. 🙂

Katrina and carlos got baptized. They are some of my favorite people in the whole world. Katrina – wow she is my hero. she is so incredible. I have a hard time finding the words to tell you all about her. Just know that we are the best of friends and her baptism was the BEST! Also Carlos made us a mormon cake! He is hilarious! basically we love all of our investigators. 🙂

So this week we spent a night in urgent care. Sister Merrill had a cyst on her back – it was bad. We are riding bikes it is great, our miles got cut a little so that is going to be a good time. my car door decided to stop working and not open from the inside.

This week Sister Merrill and I have really sought to plan with the Lord and to really tune into the Spirit as we plan. Weekly planning, nightly planning, and comp studies have changed so much and are so much fun as we really strive to be innovative with the Spirit. Katrina was very nervous about religion and was not sure about being baptized again. Each day as we planned her lessons we prayerfully selected the commitments that we would extend to her and the doctrine she needed to understand in order to keep those commitments. As we did she started keeping the little commitments! She loved the Mormon Messages and we found that as she understood true doctrine that she would invite her self to keep the commitments. It is the best! She invited her self to be baptized! I love helping people seek learning by faith. Teaching by the Spirit is the ONLY way to go.

This week I have come to understand D&C 50:22 “Wherefore, he that preacheth and he that receiveth, understand one another, and both are edified and rejoice together.” Understanding and conversion only come through the spirit and when we teach by the Spirit we are are both edified! The Spirit shows unto us all truth and is one in purpose with the Father and the Son. He knows each of us and what we need. In 3 Ne 17:2-3 the Savior admonishes the Nephites to seek for understanding and to open their hearts to learn from the Spirit. It is a big deal. The Spirit teaches little by little and line upon line. As we act and apply true doctrine we are changed.

I know that this is the truth. I love this work so much and I love serving here in Davie!

Love,

Sister Stegelmeier
